About Fred Chao

Fred Chao is a graphic / production designer and illustrator. His clients have included NPR, TEDTalks, HarperCollins Publishers, Disney Magazines, Henry Holt Publishers, and Apple Inc.

He also authored and illustrated the graphic novel Johnny Hiro {half asian, all hero}, which was nominated for 4 Eisner Comic Industry awards and included in The Best American Comics 2010 anthology.

He has spoken at the Library of Congress' National Book Festival, NYU, Clark University, Emerson College, and the Asian Festival of Children's Content in Singapore.

He lives in San Francisco's Bay Area.
